The Department of Educational Administration offers graduate courses leading to a Certificate of Specialization in Educational Administration and Supervision. The minimum requirement is 66 semester credit hours in a program of study specified by the department (30 hours beyond the M.Ed.). The most common course of study is designed to meet the requirements for a Nebraska Professional Administrative and Supervisory Certificate, with the certificate endorsement of superintendent. To satisfy requirements for any other administrative endorsements that the student may want to obtain, such as secondary principal, middle-level principal, elementary principal, or curriculum supervisor, additional courses may be required.
Methods of Delivery: Courses are offered online and face-to-face. Students may choose course formats that best suit their needs. Although online courses do not “meet” at a scheduled time or place, distance students are able to participate in class assignments and interact in much the same way as traditional, on-campus students. Students interact with instructors and other students through e-mail, online chats, discussion boards and other methods. Who Should Consider This Degree?

Students who complete the certificate and subsequently apply for and are admitted to a UNL doctoral degree program may request that the credit hours completed in the certificate program be accepted in a graduate program of study. Acceptance of the credits earned in the certificate program requires Office of Graduate Studies and supervisory committee approval and is not guaranteed. |
